I have a SCSI QIC-36 cartridge tape drive for backing up Unix workstations. (Uses DC600 tapes, an Emulex MT02 controller and a Wangtek drive). While it only gets 60 megs on a tape, it works! I would like to use the same drive, unmodified, to back up a Mac. I've tried using the drive with Fastback II; the program doesn't know the drive is there (though SCSI Tools knows SOMETHING is out there). The hardware works, termination is not an issue, etc. Parity may be an issue... What is needed to configure the drive? Do I need driver code of some sort in the System Folder? Does the drive itself need special software? Are there programs more versatile than Fastback? If you have a working SCSI tape drive, could you describe how you installed it? -- Keith Lofstrom ...!tektronix.tek.com!vice.ico.tek.com!keithl keithl@vice.ICO.TEK.COM MS 59-316, Tektronix, PO 500, Beaverton OR 97077 (503)-627-4052
