I have a MacIIcx connected directly to a UNIX oriented ethernet
through an ethernet card. The UNIX boxes run SMTP for mail service.
I need software that allows me to read and send mail to/from my mac,
preferably using SMTP. It should be based on the mactcp drivers from
Apple, so that the mail program can coexist with other ethernet
programs. I would prefer not to use programs based on popserver
software.
I also have a MacIIcx at home. Similar needs apply, except I want the
mail software to use the uucp protocol over a phone line, and do so
automatically at set intervals, either by polling a mail feed, or by
being able to accept phone calls from a uucp mail feed. In either case
it should be able to originate mail from the mac to the world.
Any help or pointers would be appreciated.
