I got no answer the first time. Two other USENETters sent me mail asking for me to share any answers I got, so let me ask this ONE MORE TIME: A Macazine article (from last year?) described in detail how to upgrade a Mac Plus with memory and how to install a fan at the same time (the fan is from Edmund Scientific). The article described where to connect the fan power and also described Radio Shack clips to hold the fan in place. Can anyone provide me with the gist of the article (i.e. the part about where and how to install and connect the fan, and the Radio Shack part numbers) or better yet, send me a reprint of the article. I can get the info on installing the memory, but doing the fan at the same time makes a lot of sense. I obtained the fan when I got the memory, but I still haven't been able to get my hands on the article.... Thanks in advance for anything you can provide! Even a pointer to which MACazine issue it was would help --- -- or a pointer to MACazine archives to be had.... Thanks!!!

It is in January'89 issue of MACazine. > Can anyone provide me with the gist of the article (i.e. the part about >where and how to install and connect the fan, and the Radio Shack part numbers) >or better yet, send me a reprint of the article. They talked about two fans: a Piezoelectric fan and a box fan. I assume you refer to the box fan. Here is what is said about it. "... The correct size (of fans) for Macs measures 2-3/8-inch square by 1-in or 1.25-in thick. ... "Electrically, the red fan lead connects to the yellow, ninth wire of the power supply harness (+12V) and the black fan lead connects to the violet, sixth wire (DC ground) of the power supply harness. For a clean connection w/o having to cut or solder anyting, use Radio Shack wire tap-ins #64-302 (10 for $1.69). With tap-in connectors, all you have to do is place the wires alongside each other and squeeze. The fan itself mounts up under the left rear exhaust vent. The fit is real tight and, once again, all you need is ordinary mounting tape to hold it in place." "Matshushita (Panasonic) Fan #T34, 436, $9.95. Edmund Scientific Company 101 E. Gloucester Pike Barrington, NJ 08007-1380 Tel: 609-573-6250" Let me know if you need further information.
