Hello, netland.
I bought a CopyIIPC Deluxe Option Board (from Central Point Software)
to copy MacPaint files that I create on my PC to a Macintosh-compatible
diskette. After following the instructions, the Mac I tried to read
it with did not recognize the file as a MacPaint file.
I called Central Point and they told me to set the Type and Creator
to PNTG and MPNT, respectively, so the Mac would recognize the file
type. I did and it didn't: the file names are all correct, but
their icons are generic "file" icons and not MacPaint icons.
Anyone have any ideas? I need to do the entire conversion on the PC,
as I don't have a Mac, so any Mac tools are out.
How do Macintosh people download MacPaint files from bulletin
boards and have them recognized?
Also, where is there a list of popular Type and Creator strings
for Mac packages?
Please email your reply, as I doubt that most people care about
the answer. If there is interest I will summarize to the net or forward
answers.
Thanks!
