[comp.sys.mac] Looking for scheduling software

levin@bbn.com (Joel B Levin) (12/09/89)

[First, my apologies to the .pc folks if this is not the right
newsgroup; I'm basically a Mac person, and this query is on behalf of
someone who might choose a PC if it's appropriate.]

I hope I can explain this reasonably.

I'm looking for some software which can track a list of employees (for
instance, nurses, aides and orderlies in a health care facility, since
that's who would benefit :-)), a number of floors / areas / buildings
which are independently staffed, and allow the person in charge of
staffing, through a friendly interface, to allot people to shifts
(some on a regular basis, some part timers on variable schedules), and
print out: (a) a master schedule for a particular floor for a month;
(b) a day schedule showing all the people working and where they are
to be; (c) various summary reports showing how many are currently
scheduled where, which floors are short when, etc.; and anything else
that might be useful. I am considering putting something together
that would do this function, but it would probably be better, if some
reasonable software exists, to buy it.

Also, a package that coexists with an existing database program (for
example) would be considered.

I am interested in anything that runs on PC compatibles or Macs.

Thanks in advance. E-mail responses preferred, and a summary will be
provided (if there is demand and if there are any answers to
summarize). If you post in response, please check the Newsgroups line
in case your article is only appropriate for one group.

sent any information I received in answer.
