I just spent the past hour tracking down this bug. I was changing the Layout file in the finder on system 6.0.4. When I tried a "Get Info" on the finder, I kept getting a crash. ID=0 and MacsBug error something about error trying to deque? I tried various combinations of removing the debugger, all inits, checking for virus w/Disinfectant 1.5, using Disk first Aid, replacing the sytem and finder. I finally tracked it down to Gatekeeper Aid 1.0. I guess I'll resort to Disinfectant 1.5 until a bug fix is released. --Willi

Since Gatekeeper Aid is trying to protect agains unknown future viruses, it has to be pretty complicated. Anyone who is having problems with Gatekeeper Aid, might want to try the init I posted about two weeks ago. This is INIT is extremely simple and the source code is included so that you can see for yourself what it does. So far no one has complained of any compatibility problems with my INIT and I've received even a few thanks for writing it. I tested it with the first WDEF and didn't have any problems. A locked disk will not be cleaned, but my init will beep and prevent infection.
