I'm trying to help a design group get accurate proofs of magazine pages ( designed in Letraset DesignStudio) out of a LaserWriter IINTX. The problem is that all the output comes out a point or two too small. This is a consistent distortion, and it occurs in all the applications I've checked. Rumor has it that the problem is between QuickDraw and Postscript -- QD has 72 points per inch, PS has 72.3 or some such -- but I can't verify that and I haven't the faintest idea how to deal with it short of setting the scaling factor in the "Print..." dialog to 99% or so. That's a bit of a kludge, it seems. Has anyone else encountered this particular problem with getting (reasonably) dimensionally accurate output from a Postscript printer? Any solutions? Please respond by e-mail -- at long distance rates, my employer can ill afford to have me keep up with this mile-a-minute newsgroup. thanks muchly, Michael Rose -------------------------------------------------- Man of many hats -- DTP Consultant, Time Inc.
