Thanks to those of you who've responded to my request for recommendations on inexpensive 2400 baud modems for us to carry. So far, the Practical Peripherals and SupraModem models have been suggested to us. I'm interested in more feedback, from anyone who has experience with the inexpensive-2400-baud-modem market. Please respond via e-mail, telling me what modems you like, and why. Negative feedback, i.e. what modems we SHOULDN'T get, would also be appreciated. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Chuck Bartosch chuck@memory.uucp - - BAKA Computers, Inc. ...!batcomputer!memory!chuck - - 200 Pleasant Grove Road chuck%memory@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu - - Ithaca, NY 14850 607-257-2070 - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've gotten a few responses to my request for modem information. A few people have pointed me towards the Practical Peripherals modem and the Supra modem (both 2400 baud models). If you have one of these, please write back to me to tell me what you think about it. Problems? Horror stories? Love stories? Anything? How about the Anchor modem? What's your opinion of that? Feel free to comment on other brands of inexpensive 2400 baud modem. My mind is still open! Thanks to those who've responded so far! -- ============================================================================ Mark H. Anbinder "Apparently -- thinks I'm a nice accomodating guy. Well in responce to the modem of choice. I have 2 Practical Peripheral modems and I have had no problems with the for the full 2 years I have had them. They seem to be compatable with the standard term programs. I use the modem on an IBM at work and the Atari St at home and right now with the St emulating the Mac. -- scott
