[comp.sys.mac] Medical Software

commike@cs.Buffalo.EDU (Alan Commike ) (06/12/89)

A friend of mine runs a small doctors office. Five or six doctors and
three secretaries. They want to move the wordprocessing, billing, and
client database over to a Mac network. So here comes the
question, does anyone have any experience with software specifically
set up for a doctors office. They are looking for one large package
that can handle all their needs, instead of going with a few general
purpose programs.

Thanks for any advice.

I have a request of the net which I'm pretty sure hasn't been discussed in
the several years I have been following this newsgroup. Of course, I might
be wrong.

I am in need of some information on medical software which will be used in a
doctor's office. What I need it to do is scheduling, billing, patient record
keeping, and many other tasks. These will eventually include the sending
of insurance claims electronically.

I have access to the Apple Vertical Product Directory, and it lists a ton
of applications/packages that do all of this. I would really appreciate it
if someone could point me to a review of some of these applications so I
can make the right decision. These packages are all pretty expensive, so
buying the wrong one will be a waste. Also, any personal experiences with
this type of software would be welcomed, as will experiences with the support
that the vendors supply.

If a more detailed description of what I'm asking is necessary, don't
hesitate to email me.

Thanks a bunch in advance.
