This works in general on the Mac, as does CMD-Shift 2. In Standard File, 
these appear to have extra utility. Standard File does a lot of low-level
stuff with volumes, apparently, because it deals with volumes appearing
and disappearing very nicely. (I even once had it recognize that a network
volume had dropped out of the system without warning!)
