[comp.sys.mac] Xerox sues Apple over Mac User Interface

papa@pollux.usc.edu (Marco Papa) (12/16/89)

The Wall Street Journal reported today: "Xerox sues Apple for $150 Million
over Macintosh Command System" ... " alleging Apple misappropriated
copyright Xerox software that may have been pivotal to the enormous success
of Apple's Macintosh personal computer".

Things can turn around 180 degrees :-)

This makes me think of the "Lies Computer Dealers Tell" article in the
December issue of Amiga Resource, where one is 'quoted' as saying, "If you
purchase a set of Mac ROMS from an unauthorized source and use them with a
simulator on your Amiga, the FBI can confiscate your system."

Sounds to me like Apple may be the 'Unauthorized Source' in question, and
that it may be illegal to use the Mac ROM's on Mac's, too. :) :) :)
(Apple doesn't have these ^^^, either.)

These are my opinions, not those of my employers --
who cannot hear the word 'Amiga'.

I feel compelled to repeat a David Letterman joke from 15 Dec:

     "XEROX, SUE SOMEBODY FOR COPYING?"
