I've been approached by a software company (yes, they're even fairly reputable!) about licensing a cdev/init that I wrote and distributed as shareware. They're planning to include it in a package with several other utilities (some in-house, some licensed). My dilemma is this: being new to commercial software, I have no earthly idea what the going rate is for royalties or outright source code purchases. Can anyone with experience enlighten me - any input would be appreciated. I know it varies a lot depending on the code, the market, intended distribution, advertising costs, etc., etc., but I just want some rough impression of what I should expect (or demand). Please email, since I haven't got a lot of time to read netnews with my current workload. I'll summarize to the net if there's interest. Thanks!
