My Macintosh started life as a Mac 512K in 1985. I enhanced it (the expensive all-Apple way) to a 512KE, then a Plus. It is completely stock. For about a year now, the clock has been incurably mad. It keeps perfect time as long as the machine is on, but it is erratic when powered back up. Sometimes, it can be off for as long as twenty-four hours and still "remember" the correct time; on other occasions, I can repower it after as short an interval as 20 minutes, only to have the clock come up with a random time and date. I have replaced the battery twice and had a dealer replace it once, to no good effect. I have taken the machine to three different dealers for repair; one reported that it found nothing amiss, and the other two said that they couldn't solve the problem. I don't know if they attempted a board replacement or not. Any ideas?
