I have seen some postings about problems with master disk type
games not working on the IIci. I have a few of those games, which
also did not work (Patton vs Rommel, the Kobiyashi Alternative...).
However, it is possible to get them working.
My solution was to unlock the disk and remove the system files
from the master disks. I did this using MacTools. Of course, I made
a backup of the system files before I removed them. So far I have not
had any problems.
The difficulty is usually because the master disk has an old
system that will not run the IIci. The reason I removed individual
files instead of the system folder, is that some invisible files or
copy protection may be associated with the sytem folder.
The other alternative is to check with the manufacturer to see if
an update has been issued. Upgrading is usually either free or very
cheap.
