My Imagewriter II produces copy that is remarkably inferior to Iamgewriter I copy. Am I the only one? PS: I use BOSTON II font primarily. Pls. don't tell me to buy a laserwriter.

David,
A while back in this group, somebody else wrote about the IWII printing
worse than the IWClassic. Seems that SW2-5 & SW2-6, which control the
hammer-fire timing, are (in the previous poster's disclaimed opinion) set
by cretins. By ignoring the IWII's manual's WARNING on page 87, and
diddling around with these two switches, you can apparently get a better-
looking output.

I just happen to have one thats not seeing too much use now (not that it ever did before) and would like to sell it. I got it a little over a year ago with my Mac SE, so all I have is the DIN 8 serial cable, but a DB 9 or 25 shouldn't be too hard to rig up. I have extra ribbons (4-color and black) and was hoping for somewhere around $300; university cost is $450 for one. Is there a way of converting the default "FORM FEED" (inherent) in ImageWriter II into "LINE FEED" either by hardware or software ? That is, every time the printer prints something, it should not go to the next page but move up only one line. - Ramesh Chandak rc05@gte.com
