I was wondering if anyone familiar with data bases could help me? I want to do a project which would involve using about 12-14 different fields of information. The time frame for the project will be about 5 years. During this time I will have to generate reports using various fields to pull info from the data base, but will have to have all info marked by date as to when it was entered. First; what would be the best (if any) data base to use, and Second; can a "layman" (myself) configure such a data base properly, or would I have to get "expert" advise? Thanks in advance, Andy --- * Via ProDoor 3.2aR

In article <89121507184013@masnet.uucp> you write: >I was wondering if anyone familiar with data bases could help me? First; what would be the best (if any) *****> I don't have to be so specific regarding when to enter the data for each of the fields. However, for the Time Card DB, that when they work, it may be necessary: on the contrary, I rather need to have a DB, that can lock up those fields -- unless with a password -- that unauthorized people cannot even look at it, such that those who allow to use it can just use it to enter the their name to sign in and out on the computer directly: but the computer/DB will automatically key in the active time (probably using macro). >data base to use, and Second; can a "layman" (myself) configure such a >data base properly, or would I have to get "expert" advise? Thanks in *****> Well, I know something about computer, and I like it/computing very much, but I'm not a programmer. >advance, Andy >--- > * Via ProDoor 3.2aR *****> What's ProDoor? I've heard/seen such term in a pc BBS.
