Does anyone know if there is a "new" version of Backdrop which works on the SE/30. The version I have works; however, when you move a window which has been on top of the "backdrop," the picture gets chopped to bits and after a while looks like quite a mess. It seems Deskpict does it correctly on the mac ii's and the one picture that comes with it works perfectly on the SE/30 (internal screen) since it is a 1-bit picture. Does anyone know how to create pictures (possibly convert superpaint or macpaint files) into the format that Deskpict wants? Also, if anyone has any other 1-bit pictures that would work with Deskpict, I wouldn't mind getting hold of them. Thanks in advance. ----Derek Fong fong@cive.stanford.edu thewho@portia.stanford.edu

I believe that DeskPict wants to find a PICT with the resource ID 0 or 1 in the file DeskPicture. If you look at the PICT resource inside the DeskPict init it will tell you exactly (At least on my version...I am not at a Mac right now). -- Joe Block jpb@umbio.miami.edu There was a young poet named Dan, whose poetry would never scan, when told this was so, He said "Yes I know", It's because I try to fit every possible sylable into the last line that I can.

DeskPict uses PICT files with PICT ID=0. Giffer can save in this format. So try converting some files from other formats. I only use color pictures on my IIci. Haseen.
