GIven that some of the mail order outlets below may be direct
descendants of former houses of ill repute, which ones might
not be trustworthy or _not_to_be_ recommended, unless no other
solution is in sight?
Of particular interest to me is their record in regard to speedy
dispatch of stuff that they claim they already have in stock.
The companies in question are (in no particular order):
------------------------------------------------------
- Dr. Mac, Sherman Oaks, CA
- Beverly Hills Comp., Beverly Hills, CA
- Mac Discount Warehouse, Northbrook, IL
- Mac Products USA, Austin, TX
- MacLand, Tempe, AZ
Please reply briefly to me with approximate date of your
negative experience with any of these, if any, and I'll
summarize to the net.

PS. I have positive experiences of MacConnection, Marlow NH,
MacWarehouse, Lakewood, NJ and ComputerWare, Palo Alto, CA.
However, neither one of these stocks HP DeskWriter (CW does
for sales only within Nothern California), so they're not an
option.a172@mindlink.UUCP (Michael Carman) (01/19/90)
In regards to your question about mail-order houses, I have used Programs Plus for software and have absolutely no complaints.
