[comp.sys.mac] LS Pascal 2.0 & Prototyper

xerox@eleazar.dartmouth.edu (James Osborne) (01/19/90)

I have been playing with Prototyper for a day, but when I try to
build an application from LSP, I get a link error- nothing new, but this
link error occurs in Runtime.Lib, and the undefined var is THEPORT.
Has anyone else seen this kind of problem? Do I need a new version?
-thanks

	1) Is your project type set to Application, or is it Desk Accessory,
Driver, or Code Resource? If it's not Application, you'll get this link error.

	2) Does your project have a main program?

	3) It's possible that (a) Your project got smashed, (b) Runtime.Lib
got smashed. For (a), try "Remove Objects" and recompiling. For (b), try
taking a fresh copy of Runtime.Lib from the THINK Pascal distribution.

I've seen LS Pascal (V1.0, 1.1, & 2.0) all apparently trash the code for
the libraries that has been loaded into the project, causing wierd link
errors like you report. Try the "REMOVE OBJECTS" command, and then
re-compiling the program. This forces LSP to reload the libraries, and
usually solves the problem.
