Is there a version of (the ever popular) vi available for the Macintosh? For less than $300? Thanks, Bjorn Freeman-Benson

Thanks, I've used the 'freebie' that comes with Manx 'Aztec C' compiler. and thought that it was a reasonable facimalie. It doesn't use Standard File (open files just like you would in the "real" vi) and the "undo" is broken; however, it is an excellent vi clone -- best of all it is PD. The second is the Z editor that runs in the Aztec C shell development environment. To my way of thinking this is not as good since it both costs and is not a standalone. Bjorn, the Aztec-C system from Manx software has a UNIX-like shell, complete with vi. I see MacConnection advertising version 3.6B for $65. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ UUCP: {rosevax, crash, orator}!orbit!pnet51!pj ARPA: crash!orbit!pnet51!pj@nosc.mil INET: pj@pnet51.cts.com +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I posted an article before about a PF version of vi for the Mac but I couldn't remember the name. I found out that it's called "steVIe". It should be available on sumex. -Ace
