I am looking for any kind of solution that will let users familiar with Macs access Unix style electronic mail. I am looking for pointers to any kind of software or hardware - public domain, shareware, commercial... anything. I know that there are facilities to talk to VMS mail from Macs. Does anything of the same ilk exist for unix ? If you know of something I would appreciate you dropping a note to dr@myrias.com. Details: Ideally I want a mail reader that can dial up a uucp system, grab the mail and let the user compose, send and read the mail with familiar Mac style tools. The objective is to give unix e-mail access to persons who don't touch unix with a ten foot bananna :-). I have attempted to write a simple set of scripts in MicroPhone that act as a simplistic front end for Mail (mailx for you sysv people). It is sort of a MacMailtool, but it is not acceptable because it isn't Maclike enough... the buttons across the bottom aren't `Macish'. Anybody have any idea ?
