I rarely frequent comp.sys.mac, so these questions may have been answered a million times before. I'm sorry if they have. Has anyone heard any specifics about the supposed 68040 and 88000 Macs? I plan on saving my pennies to buy into one of these Macs, but as of yet I haven't heard enough to decide. Does anyone have any opinions or info or advice they could lend me that would help me make a decision? I'm a CS Major, wanting to upgrade to at _least_ a Mac II. I'll probably have enough saved to buy a loaded system through my University's Apple program, so that's not the major concern. What I'd like to know is if the wait for the supposed new Macs would be better than buying into a loaded IIcx. I'd like to delay "planned obsolescence" as long as possible, but I don't want to wait until the day before I finish my doctoral thesis. :-7 Personally, I think a well-planned 88000 Mac is one of the best things since sliced bread. With this in mind, could anyone post or e-mail me some opinions and/or info? Thanks (a lot) in advance. Ken. ken-b@uiuc.edu
