Hello campers. Within the next year I would like to get a hard disk partitioning program with the following features: (1) Password protection of partitions. (2) Absence of untoward reliability problems. (3) Compatibility with Disk Express. (4) Password protection for the boot partition which cannot be circumvented by booting from diskette. Any products out there with these features? I'm especially interested in comments on the shareware (non-demo) version of SoftDisk and in the latest incarnation of SUM, though I don't believe they handle feature (4), above. Please email me and I'll summarize for the net. Thanx. ---------- Jeffrey D. I have Symantec Utilities I and just got a 100 meg HD which I am interested in partitioning. I have been told that Symantec's partitioning technique is not TRUE disk partitioning and that other programs like Silverlining and Multidisk do perform true HD partitioning. What exactly is the difference? Are there disadvantages to Symantec's method and what are they? Also will the two programs mentioned allow me to partition my drive without having to reformate it? Does the SUM II package have true partitioning?
