I've been following the discussion on backup software for the Mac and am glad to hear that there is an almost universal favorite - Retrospect. Makes my decision process very simple. Now lets talk media. I've seen VCR backup boards for IBM PCs from a company called Omnitronics. It backs up your hard disk onto a standard VCR tape in your home VCR player at a rate of 600K/minute. One 2-hour tape holds 70 Mbytes. The real attractive thing about this system is price - $169.00 for the board and cables. So I called them and asked about support for the Mac and got the standard "the Mac market is too small" answer. So, the question of the day is: Who makes a VCR interface for the Mac that can be used for backups? Or, what is the cheapest/best tape backup system for the Mac. Just for reference sake, I've got an 80 Mbyte hard disk and I'd like to back it up fully once every 2 weeks. Thanks, I'll look forward to reading the discussion.
