[comp.sys.mac] dfaultd 2.03 doc bug?

hairston@henry.ece.cmu.edu (David Hairston) (02/07/90)

am i dreaming or is there a problem with the new dfaultd (2.03) docs
at around page 4 of the macwrite document? to study this i fell back
to a generic system 6.0.2 (no non-apple inits!) on a macII (5M RAM)
with no virii problems according to disinfectant 1.6.

the problem is that around page 4 in the dfaultd doc the text becomes
garbled. there appears to be a strange character in the text causing
the problem. i say this because if i copy the strange text to the
clipboard, the garbled (highlighted) text will redraw with the funny
(pretzel, command) character shown in the text which isn't obvious
before copying. after a moment i get a system error 12 (unimplemented
core routine error) and a crash. macwrite is fine (if i don't read
this document!). in fact, all else seems to be fine. anyone else seen
this?
