I'm not sure if anyone has talked about this before, if so, I apologize. I recently switched my SE/30 over from 6.0.3 to using 6.0.4. It's been working fairly well, but I've encountered some real weird stuff. The biggest one which puzzles me is what happens when I select shut down. In 6.0.3, when I shut down, the scn would go from the desktop to the "Safely Turn off your Mac screen." Now it doesn't do that. It instead blacks the screen for a few seconds before the "Safely..." message appears. What gives? Is something wierd being done? Also, I have discovered some problems with 6.0.4 in terms of software. Some games which I could run before (not super important) no longer run. But Mac Tools 7.2 no longer runs. The problem with MacTools is that when you eject a disk, the machine bombs. Any solutions? I have a SE/30 running Mulifinder with 5 MB of RAM. The problems still exist without any of my INITS which I normally use a lot of. The MacTools problem didn't seem to occur with finder. Is it just that MacTools doesn't like Multifinder? I don't remember having this problem with 6.0.3, but maybe I just luckily avoided it. Also, I would be interested in anyone helping form a list of programs which are not compatible with 6.0.4. Thanks in advance... --Derek Fong fong@cive.stanford.edu thewho@portia.stanford.edu
