I am seeing a problem wherein transfers of plain ascii files from my VAX to a Mac result in 'Y' characters being turned into something else (the box character shows up when the file is read into a word processor.) A few other characters seem odd, too: One of '&' and '*' turns into the trademark symbol, the other seems to disappear. Perhaps bit 8 is being turned on in these few characters for some reason? If the file is transferred back to the VAX it is identical to the original. This is with Mac Kermit, various versions, e.g., 9(36)bu4, 9(40), etc. All versions I've tried produce the same result.
