[comp.sys.mac] What is the lifespan of a LaserWriter Plus?

scott_sutherland@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu (02/21/90)

Could someone tell me what the expected lifespan (# page printed) of a
LaserWriter Plus is? I have a chance to purchase a Mac SE (20 MB HD),
an ImageWriter, and a LaserWriter Plus for 2,200 and I'm trying to decide
if it's a reasonable deal. What else should I look for to tell if the
LaserWriter is in good shape?

Any suggestions will be MUCH appreciated. Please e-mail me, as I probably
don't have long to act on this offer.

Thanks!

If I remember my training correctly...the life span of the engine is approx
300,000 pages with refurbishments every 10,000 pages or so. This is for
general to heavy usage. I have seen LaserWriters that were kept in good
condition last more that twice as long.
