A blurb in the rumors column of the most recent Info World indicated that the only SIMMs that could be used in the soon-to-be-released MacIIxi would be of the type used in the LaserWriter NTX. It went on to state that these SIMMs run upwards of $500/Meg and would only be available from Apple. Does anybody know if this is to be the case? If so, would anybody care to describe the difference between currently available $79/Meg SIMMs and these NTX SIMMs? Is their price justified? Is there a valid technical reason for Apple to be using them in the MacIIxi? (I hope it is something other than the fact that Apple is sole distributor for these SIMMs at >$500 a pop.) Thanks.
