[comp.sys.mac] Moire 3.02

ke2y@vax5.cit.cornell.edu (02/24/90)

Ok. I admit I've enjoyed looking at the previous versions of Moire. I think
it's an excellent screensaver for the price. (I don't use it regularly as
I've purchased AfterDark a while ago (mostly for the programming aspect) and
have been very satisfied.)
When I saw that a new bug-fix to v3.0 (Dyson's Folly is NICE now that it
works), I thought - gee, neat. Let's take a look.
  Downloaded, no problem. And then...

***FLAME ON***

The documentation is in _Mac Write II_ format!!! :^(
Needless to say, NOTHING I own will read Mac Write II files. Tried Word 4.0,
Write Now 2.0, etc. Nothing.

As much as I dislike the old Mac Write format, I DO prefer it for docs -
it IS the standard in some ways (ALL word processors I've seen have been
able to process it)

Regardless of the features Mac Write II has added, I'm rather annoyed that
the only way I was able to check out the Docs of Moire 3.02 was through
Gofer (losing all formatting and graphics! (worked well other than that,
though))

PLEASE post docs in either TeachText or Mac Write (v.1 !) format.
If you must post other formats, at least INCLUDE one of these formats!
(I have seen some wonderful docs done in Word 4 format, complete with excellent
use of style sheets, but I really pity those that don't have Word 4! I mean
I find Word files to be really nice (since I have Word), but they are useless
to someone who prefers Write Now or Mac Write.)

*** FLAME OFF ***

                                                   -John
PS:
John (Lim), this is not meant as an attack on you - you've done an excellent
job at creating a grade-A screen saver. Judging from your previous efforts, I
figure it may have even been an oversight.
I just wanted to add my opinion on docs, and unfortunately, your program
had been the one most recently downloaded.
  Keep up the good work.
