[comp.sys.mac] FileMaker II & spoolers

Fabian@cup.portal.com (Fabian Fabe Ramirez) (02/20/90)

Arie,

My information is directly from the head of Claris' Tech Support. Basically,
because of conflicting reports of compatibility with spoolers...they cannot
guarantee compatibility with ANY spooler (including Apple's).

Thanks for the info. I want you to know that I am not blaming you,
I am blaming the company for that, but what am I suppose to do with
the two five-pack SuperLaserSpool that I paid to upgrade only because
The tech support person told me there are no problems with it and
FileMaker II?

Arie,

You have two options...if you purchased SLS within the last 30 days, you can
return it for a refund of your purchase price or you can keep the 5 pack and
use it with applications, other than FileMaker II. It's unfortunate that
Claris gave you incorrect information.

Sorry to disagree, but I use FileMaker II with Apple's PrintSpooler
and Background Printing On, and have never had any trouble. I do this
just about every week, though our print load is pretty low here.

Avi,

As I stated before...due to conflicting reports of compatibility between
FileMaker II and _any_ spooler, Claris has informed us (SuperMac) that
FileMaker II does not support third party spoolers.
