If anyone out there needs a professional level 2d graphing program for science, look at Igor. I have used Cricket Graph and Passage, but found Igor to be the best. I heard of it first here, from happy beta testers. So I bought it. The feature I like best is batch processing. You write a file called Igor Batch File to a folder and, under Multifinder, Igor can keep track of its modification date and work on it, differentiate it....graph it. Most recently, I wrote WaveMetrics for help on how to slow down the display so I could see the way points were plotted(it is too fast, even in 8bit mode). Within 24hours I had macro hacked up by one of their developers in my mailbox. Truly unbelievable....(internet helps...). Igor is for science. It has virtually the whole Numerical Recipes book in it. It is not that expensive (195). And it performs as advertised. Macros are easy, a lot easier than WingZ or Excel. Its accuracy is great. I think it it the best 2d plotting and analysis tool around. I could not do my research now without it. It seems to have been written by people familiar with what is really needed in science and scientific journals. For some real information, contact WaveMetrics. I think their address is P.O.Box 2088 Lake Oswego, Oregon 97035 As usual, there are lots of opinions and trademarks. Standard discalaimers apply. My school has lots to do with my opinions...but not legally. I have nothing to do with WaveMetrics except that I am a very satisfied customer. I second your applause of Igor. I couldn't live without it at this point. There's no program comparable. -- - Scott
