My speculation is that A-T has, oh, billyuns and billyuns of 1.0 packages sitting around, 2.0 is around the corner, and they have no desire to simply destroy all the 1.0 packages that cost so much to make up. (I assume this is another reason they struck the deal with Technology Works.) Also, this gets the proggie out into the hands of a bunch of people who (like me) would not otherwise have bought it. This is a chance not to lose the money they have invested in all those packages, and perhaps to increase their customer base. Pure speculation, but that's how I see it. > I checked ads for most of the other mail-order places, but no one else > had such a deal going (not too surprising, since MacConnection is > usually a step or two ahead of the competition). I saw the MacConnection ad the day I got my April MacUser, which was Wed. 2/28. Noting that MacWhorehouse had printed the standard price of $259, I called Kerry to see what she was selling it for. She said $59, so apparently they knew the deal too. Also, a friend of mine had bought something from MW a few days before that, and his shipment included a flyer advertising the FullWrite deal. I don't know about MacZone or anyplace else. --Adam-- -- Adam Frix via cmhGate - Net 226 fido<=>uucp gateway Col, OH UUCP: ...!osu-cis!n8emr!cmhgate!200.2!Adam.Frix INET: Adam.Frix@p2.f200.n226.z1.FIDONET.ORG
