[comp.sys.mac] Typing Tutors

alex@vuwcomp.UUCP (Alex Heatley) (01/27/87)

To all those who replied to my question about typing tutors, thanks.
Especially Peter J. Gergely, Steve Dorner, Bryan Schacht and Alf (mouseketeer)

The general consensus was that Typing Tutor III was the best typing tutor.
However I was surprised to discover that there only seems to be *two* such
beasties. Perhaps people have no need to learn to touch type on the mac :-)

We've ordered a copy of TT III and hopefully it will serve our needs. Thanks
again.

Trolls can often be found under bridges ... or in Computing Departments.

I know of at least 4 typing tutorials for the Mac; I've reviewed most of
them. TTIII is good, but I think Typing Made Easy is a little better.
Master Type is clearly outclassed by these two. MacType is the only one
that teaches Dvorak as well as QWERTY. Typing Intrigue is an OK mystery
game/tutorial.

I would appreciate it if I could get comments and suggestions on
typing tutor software that a thirteen year old would enjoy.
Please e-mail directly to me if possible.

	Thanks,

	Yvonne
