[comp.sys.mac] 256K SIMMS For Sale

u-cdmorr@utah-cs.UUCP (Clifford D Morrison) (06/15/88)

I have a pair of 150ns 256K NEC simms recently removed from my Mac Plus
when it was upgraded. These should allow a 512KE->Plus upgrade for some
lucky person. I am interested in selling them, but don't know what an
appropriate price would be.

If interested, please send mail suggesting what you would be willing to
pay for them and how you would like payment and shipping to be arranged.

There's no place to put them on a 512Ke. The Macintosh Plus has a different
logic board than the 512Ke. The Macintosh plus was the first Macintosh that
had "socketed" memory. I don't think you'll find much of a market for the
256K simms. But maybe some Mac II owner would like to give themselves 2 megs
of memory. The only people you would be able to sell them to are Mac II
owners.

I have four (4) 150ns 256K SIMMs which I am looking to sell. The asking price is $150, or the best offer. I will ship them by whatever means you prefer, provided you pay the associated costs.

The 150ns chips are compatible with a MacPlus or SE, but not a Mac II or SE/30.

I have 16 256K SIMMs, which were pulled out of a bunch of Mac SEs
and a Mac II. All are either 100 or 120 nanosecond and are less than
a year old. These are suitable to upgrade any Mac II or SE/30 to 2
meg (from the original 1 meg condition). I'd like to sell them for
$150/ set of 4 SIMMs. This seems like a reasonable price considering
I could unload the lot to a dealer (e.g. Technology Works) for
$25/SIMM, and the going rate for new 256K simms is ca. $60 each.

I have 2 sets of 4 256K SIMMS for sale.

One set is 8 chip SIMMS (Nec, if memory serves) for the Macintosh

The other set is 9 chip SIMMS (TI if I recall) for IBM or Mac type machines.

Both sets are 120 nanosecond very low profile, surface mount, etc. They
are coming out of my Mac II.

Asking $125 per set o.b.o.

I just finished upgrading my Mac Plus to four megs, so I have some 256k simms
available:

	4 256k NEC 120ns simms

These simms are in working order (just removed) and they are only 6 months
old.

I've got no idea what 256k simms are worth now that 1 meg simms are in the
$80 range.

Drop me a mail message and make me an offer. I'll pay UPS 2 day blue
shipping anywhere in the US.
