Does anyone out there remember the deal for cheap PMMUs put together by Tad Blakeley at Harvey Mudd College? I sent in my $170 check, and haven't received or heard anything yet. A brief history: Aug 89: I sent in my $170 check. 13 Sep 89: Tad asked for new checks to replace the old ones, which were incorrectly addressed to HMCMUG. I sent in a new check. 19 Oct 89: In response to my query, Tad wrote to me saying that he was waiting on a couple of checks and that he was in the midst of midterms 26 Nov 89: DITTO. 26 Dec 89: DITTO. 14 Feb 90: I sent him a message and never got a reply. What is going on?? --Tom Ngo ngo@harvard.harvard.edu -- --Tom Ngo ngo@harvard.harvard.edu

Another prospective-and-paid-up purchaser got his back, also, and (after speaking with Tad) learned that Tad had decided to abandon the project... again, citing overwork/midterms/finals. The street-prices on PMMUs has come down quite a bit since the group-purchase was first proposed... you can probably get one for less than $170 from one of the chip-vendors who advertise in the back pages of MacWeek. -- Dave Platt VOICE: (415) 493-8805 UUCP: ...!{ames,apple,uunet}!coherent!dplatt DOMAIN: dplatt@coherent.com INTERNET: coherent!dplatt@ames.arpa, ...@uunet.uu.net USNAIL: Coherent Thought Inc. 3350 West Bayshore #205 Palo Alto CA 94303
