The price of the HP LaserJet IIP is very attractive. Especially, if we can the Macintosh environment, in addition to the PC environment. Here is a brief description and price (enhencement): LaserJet IIP, 512k, 4ppm $989 1 Meg / 2 Meg / 4 Meg upgrade $249 / $339 / $469 Pacific Data Postscript Emulation Card $399 MacPrint (interface to the Mac) $ 89 (QuickDraw) or JetExpress (interface to the Mac) $ 89 (Outline, but limited) Now, if we configure to a 2 Meg Postcript Compatible printer, it totals to approx. $1800, the price is still very competitive. (Plus, there is a 30% discount on the IIP from HP for educational qualifier.) What I am wondering is, if it is posible to use downloadable (soft) fonts with this printer with the Mac. Mainly, the outline fonts created by Fontographer v3. Note, I can use these downloadable fonts with the LaserWriter +/IInt with no problem. Is there anyboby out there who has any experience using any of the above products (combination)? Also, what is the future of this printer with System 7.0? When is System 7.0 really coming out? Should I wait for it? I appreciate any comments. My e-mail address: <ee441kxk@iitmax.iit> Thanks, Kantol Khek
