I've been meaning to post this for a while ... for the past month or two, I've been getting the message "application not found" whenever I try to open a document whose application is buried a couple of levels deep in the HFS. I thought that the Desktop file was supposed to keep track of this. I've tried fixing the desktop with the application "fix desktop" (yes, I had the "fix application list" option checked off), but to no avail. What am I doing wrong? Am I mistaken in any of my assumptions? Thanks, Brad

I noticed that it is not one of the defaults in Fix desktop (a real nifty utility by the way). What does fix application list really mean and why would I NOT want to do it (a la the default settings)? -- Jeff Wiseman: ....uunet!tellab5!wiseman OR wiseman@TELLABS.COM
