Announcing Key Lights - The Keyboard Light Sequencer Key Lights is a CDEV which makes the Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock lights on an Apple Extended Keyboard sequence in a back and fourth motion. The Control Panel interface allows you to set the speed and mode of sequencing, as well as turn the sequencing on and off without having to restart. Key Lights requires only 3.5 K of RAM and works correctly under Single and MultiFinder on any Macintosh which supports the Extended ADB Keyboard. The program has been submitted to comp.binaries.mac, and is now available in the sumex-aim.stanford.edu archives as "info-mac/cdev/key-lights.hqx". The program is HappiWare. If you like it, smile! And please send a picture postcard of your hometown to the address below. MPW C source is available by e-mail. Smile! I've noticed it slows down mouse/pointer response, but if you put it on 'slow', it is hardly a problem at all. In my lifetime of mac extended kybrd use, I've NEVER seen the 'Num lock' or the 'scroll lock' lights show. It's fun to exercise them! -Jq -- | | /---\ /---\ /---\ Lord Hippo the Nefarious | | | \___ | Ex-Funk Director of Santa Cruz | | | \ | Devote Worshipper of the Fertility \____/ \___/ \___/ \---/ Goddess [don't ask]

This sounds neat--I'm really looking forward to it. One thing I would love to see, though, is a screen saver that would do what Key Lights does only when the screen is blanked (just like my DEC workstation). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- /'') /'~ / | long@mcntsh.enet.dec.com | Ramparts are parts of a /''\ /,, /,, | ...!decwrl!mcntsh.enet.dec.com!long | ram.
