A friend of mine was one of the developers of Macintalk. I've offered to post their side of the story with respect to their negotiations past and present with Apple. Basically Apple was offered source and support, but, declined. They have continued development for other platforms and have much better speach. There are other interesting facts, but, I'll let him elaborate. The somewhat one sided nature of the Tech Note bothered me. Stephen Sakamoto
