[comp.sys.mac] Quark XPress secrets? Also, want help...

The "secrets": I was browsing through XPress 2.12 in ResEdit and noticed
some interesting strings. As far as I can tell, they are not used in the
documented features of the program.

   1. STR# 503 mentions "footnote", "toc 1", "toc 2", etc.
   2. STR# 498 mentions "Mac Plus", "Mac IIci", etc.

So are these strings just anticipatory, or are there undocumented features
here? (This question is a little less interesting since 3.0 will arrive
shortly, but the curious still need to know.)

Question 1. I remember reading somewhere that you could do something
with ResEdit so that double-clicking on a picture would launch the picture's
creating program with the picture--a hot-link capability. Can anyone out
there tell me how to do this?

Question 2. I am having trouble with locking paragraphs to the baseline grid.
I am using 11/13 point type for the body text, and I have specified a baseline
grid of 13 points, with an offset of 0. I assume that everything would work
correctly if I started my text frames on 13-point boundaries. Unfortunately,
the text inside is locking about 5 points below the top of the box. (I set
the text offset in the box to 0, too.)

By "5 points below the top", I mean that I can move the box down 5 points
without causing the text to drop down another 13 points. This leaves an
unsightly gap above the top of the text and screws up my nice calculations.
What is wrong here?
