Hi, Did you know that Finder expects to find a file called "Finder Sounds" when it starts up. Am I the first (outside Apple) to discover this? I don't have the time to hack up the format of the 'scod'-256 resource right now, but if no one else does it (and Apple doesn't tell us), I might find the time within the next two or three weeks. _._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._ | Juri Munkki jmunkki@hut.fi jmunkki@fingate.bitnet I Want Ne | | Helsinki University of Technology Computing Centre My Own XT | ^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^

I just found on GEnie and posted to SUMEX and comp.binaries.mac a copy of Greg Smith's Finder Sounds cdev. It is not exactly the same as the Sonic Finder, but it is a functional equivalent. Note that it requires System 6.0.4 (or possibly higher). David Fry fry@huma1.harvard.EDU Department of Mathematics fry@huma1.bitnet Harvard University ...!harvard!huma1!fry Cambridge, MA 02138

Finder Sounds 1.1 is currently available at sumex in sound/programs/finder-sounds-11.hqx and on Compu$erve's MACFUN forum, Library 6, file SONICF.SIT. Version 1.2 will be coming out within a few weeks and will support a desktop dragging sound and have sound mover code built into the control panel. +----------------------------+------------------------------------+ | Gregory J.
