HELP! I have one of the original 128k macs that I upgraded to a 512ke and then to 1024k. Some of the software I am trying to use that requires 1 Meg still will not run because my machine still looks like a 512ke. Even MacEnvy identifies it as a 512ke with 1 M of memory. What do I need to do to make this machine look like a MacPlus? Do I need a new clock chip? A SCSI port? Also, are there software work-arounds for this (e.g. can I just write a "machine type" byte in memory to fool this software that won't run)? Any hints would be much appreciated. Thanks, Charlie Farwell cyf@druco.ATT.COM

(sorry if this is a repost)... HELP! I have an original 128k mac that I upgraded to a 512ke and then to a 1024ke. Some of the software I am trying to run that requires 1 MB still won't run because it complains about my machine not being a mac+. Also, MacEnvy shows my mac as being a 512ke with 1 MB of memory. The question is, what do I need to make this machine look like a mac+? I know it's missing a SCSI port and a new clock chip. Do I have to have these, or is there some way I can fool the software into thinking it's a mac+? Is there a configuration byte or some such thing I can manually modify to achieve this? Any hints would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Charlie Farwell cyf@druco.ATT.COM (303)538-1449
