(Bug spoiler) I agree; even though J. S. Bach is considered to be a great composer, he is still underrated. Composers in general are underrated in our society, and Bach's sublime music certainly stands out even among the music of other competent or 'great' composers. Singing in a performance of B minor Mass was one of those moments in my life that make it worth living. Anymore choral singers out there? In the SF Bay area? Michael D Stimac

But if you though that was good, try singing in the St. John Passion. It's all I can do to keep going in the last chorus, it's so moving. I sing in the Alta California Chamber Singers, a small (16 or so) a capella group of singers from Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, Concord, Martinez and so on. We rehearse tuesdays in Orinda, and we need basses and tenors, if anyone is interested. Give me a call.
