[net.music] Bach; singing

(Bug spoiler)

I agree; even though J. S. Bach is considered to be a great composer,
he is still underrated. Composers in general are underrated in our
society, and Bach's sublime music certainly stands out even among
the music of other competent or 'great' composers. Singing in a
performance of B minor Mass was one of those moments in my life that
make it worth living.

Anymore choral singers out there? In the SF Bay area?

Yeah, I agree completely about the B Minor Mass. But
if you though that was good, try singing in the St.
John Passion. It's all I can do to keep going in the
last chorus, it's so moving.

I sing in the Alta California Chamber Singers, a small
(16 or so) a capella group of singers from Berkeley,
Oakland, San Francisco, Concord, Martinez and so on.
We rehearse tuesdays in Orinda, and
we need basses and tenors, if anyone is interested.
Give me a call.
