I finally talked to someone with Apple Customer Service today about getting the free CD-ROM disk for people outside of the US. After directing them to the right page in the April 1990 issue of MacUser so that they had some idea what I was talking about, they informed me that they knew nothing about it. The program was conceived and implemented by "another group." Anyway, the people at Customer Relations said that I should just make the call for the person, and have them send it to the non-US address. I asked them if they would allow this, and they said "I would think so." So basically they are guessing just like I am. They also assumed that you could send a letter to: Apple Computer, Inc. Apple CD-ROM Offer PO Box 751630 Memphis, TN 38175-9967 USA This letter should include if possible the certificate from MacUser (April 1990, page 175). If not possible, the information needed is: Your name, occupation, company, complete address, and phone What type of Mac you own Whether you own an Apple CD-ROM drive or another CD-ROM drive (if other, specify) -Michael -- Michael Niehaus UUCP: <backbones>!{iuvax,pur-ee}!bsu-cs!mithomas Apple Student Rep ARPA: mithomas@bsu-cs.bsu.edu Ball State University AppleLink: ST0374 (from UUCP: st0374@applelink.apple.com)
