[comp.sys.mac] Buying A/UX on an FX

harveyp@polo.UUCP (Patrick L. Harvey) (03/22/90)

I am planning to buy a Mac II fx with 160 MB disk and 8MB memory, and run A/UX
on it.

I presently have an ancient 16032 bsd 4.1 system that is ailing and no support
is available at all, much less software. I also have a Mac +. This is to
replace both systems at once. My main uses of the current mac are Excel and
word, and some drawing (architecture type stuff, landscaping, sprinkler layouts,
you get the idea). I use the bsd system for uucp communication and c
development for unix applications. I want to get into C++ and such more.

I'd appreciate any comments about the fx or about A/UX before I go and
break the bank on this stuff. (Actually for what you get it seems pretty
reasonably priced).

You'|| have to wait for the next A/UX release.
1.1.1 is presumed not to work in the IIfx.
