[comp.sys.mac] Autosave Program Available?

derosa@motcid.UUCP (John DeRosa) (03/22/90)

Is there a program that will automatically generate a
command-s (save) every specified amount of time?

Shareware or freeware or payware, it doesn't matter.

Thanks in advance.

QuickKeys from CE Software does this with QuickTimer, an addition to the
latest version of the CDEV.

QuickTimer allows 1. do a macro at startup, 2. macro at fixed time,
  2. macro at time interval, 4. macro at application startup.

There was a program around for a while called Saviour that did a good job. It
worked fine on my Mac Plus under System 6.0.4 so I assume it will work fine on
whatever you might have. It was public domain (not so sure, it might have been
shareware) and the way it worked is that you told it (a DA) to select a certain
menu item (usually Save) after either a certain number of keypresses, after a
given amount of time has elapsed, or one other option that I can't recall at
this time. E-mail me if you can't find it anywhere.
