[comp.sys.mac] Bug isolated in DiskCopy v4.1

rterry@hpcupt1.HP.COM (Ray Terry) (03/23/90)

The utility DiskCopy (Apple 3.5" Disk Duplicator, v4.1) that is used to
convert the System 6.0.5 disk images available via anonymous ftp from apple.com
has a very definite bug/incompatibility.

DiskCopy cannot be launched from a hard disk that has been partitioned with
Silverlining (v5.17 in my case). When DiskCopy is launched from a Silverling
partitioned disk it bombs (ID=10, hangs, and/or tells you that the Finder is
damaged or missing).

Workaround = move DiskCopy to a non-Silverling partitioned disk and launch from
there. All works fine then.

Thanks to the others also having problems w/DiskCopy that helped me to
finally isolate this bug.

Ray
