I recently installed Greg Smith's Finder Sounds and found it to be a lot of fun, if not particularly useful. I ignored his suggestion to increase Finder's application size, but everything seemed to work okay. Then, silence. When I tried to modify the Finder's app. size, I got a system bomb with a flickering screen sometimes, other times the mouse would dis- appear and no response from the keyboard either. Finally, by uninstalling most of my INITs and turning off MultiFinder, I was able to modify the Finder (using Get Info from the File menu). Then, I reinstalled Finder Sounds and rebooted. Silence again! Now, this morning, I turn it on and start opening folders, etc., and suddenly, Finder Sounds is alive and well again! What's going on? I'm running System 6.0.4 on an SE/30 with 5 Meg. Is there some undetected virus causing intermittent problems? (I've checked the entire 40-meg hard disk with Disinfectant 1.6.) Has anybody else had similar trouble with Finder Sounds? --Ron Ueberschaer SRI International ubi@unix.sri.com ...!{hplabs,rutgers}!sri-unix!ubi
