In the long run this may be a fair tradeoff because it doesn't waste time trying, however this type of limitation makes Milo more of a mathematics 'word processer' than a symbolic manipulator to compete with the likes of Mathematica. For ~$300 Theorist had better be much more than 'on par' with Milo. (I dont mean to sound so critical of Milo.. What it does, It does very quickly on a 1Meg Se. -- more than anyone could say about Mathematica -- and for many applications speed/ease of use are more important than power)
